dc.description.abstracten	The article offers a short overview of two contemporary theological systems by Jean- Luc Marion and Gianni Vattimo. Influenced by Martin Heidegger’s philosophy of being, both thinkers make an attempt to develop a postmetaphysical theology that would be able to function without connection to the concept and language of ‘Be¬ing’ that have dominated the modern West. It also explores Vattimo’s conviction that diminishing intellectual frameworks for making sense of the world is both a warn¬ing and an opportunity for theology. While postmodern theology generally embraces a much wider range of theological approaches, Marion’s and Vattimo’s approaches deserve special recognition in view of their attempt to reconcile the long-lasting yet troublesome relationship between reason and faith.	uk
