dc.description.abstracten	This article is in the field of canon law. It describes the history of the antimension, its meaning and role in the Eastern liturgy. The author also describes in detail the historical development of the importance of the antimension in the Christian East and in particular in Kyivan Rus’. Finally, the author refers to the decisions of the Synod of Bishops of the UGCC and the Code of Canons for the Eastern Churches, which legally confirm the importance of the antimension.	uk
